So, it was in the middle of the afternoon and my brother and I found 6 bucks bedding down across a canyon about 200 yards away. We were on one hill and they were across the way on the other, and they knew where we were. We decided to try and stalk them anyways. I walked down the canyon far off to the east and came back tracking behind them. My brother Jon hiked down the canyon just a bit and waited while I went around behind them. It took me awhile but I finally got 30 yards behind them, but they were completely blocked by thick junipers and I couldn't see them at all. I finally saw some movement and saw two legs under a tree. They were facing towards me so I knew they saw me. I pulled back my bow and waited a minute to see if the deer would move into view, but it didn't. I leaned ever so slightly to the left to get a better look on the deer, but they all took off and ran towards my brother. I still couldn't even see them at all it was so thick. I kept my draw, but none came into view. I started down the hill and my brother yelled up to me that he shot one. I was like yea right, cuz he always lies about stuff. I didn't believe him until we walked 30 yards over and saw this 30.25 inch 3 by 4. I was so pissed I wasn't able to get a shot off at this beauty, but was happy my brother was able to get it.

April fools!
I had to come up with an elaborate tale to get my mom out on the front porch to open her favorite, Diet Coke. She finally did and this is what happened.

My friend Jeff got a late season tag for archery. The deer was 80 yards away and running up a hill when he shot it in the butt. We tracked it a bit, but kept jumping it so we waited until the next morning to see if we could find it.
The blood trail wasn't easy to find, but we saw a few drops here and there and followed the best we could.
We lost the trail and were looking on the ground for more blood. My brother yelled that he had found some more and was looking at the ground. I looked further up the hill about 20 yards and yelled "there's the deer!" It was a small 4 point, but Jeff was happy to get the meat.
Heres a little set that I found a few miles west of my house. I found the first side just seconds before my brother would have seen it. We walked around the hill for a while and came back a different way. My daughter left her jacket by the first shed I found and Jon went to find it. Not 10 feet from where I was standing, he found the other side. As a rule, he gave it to me to keep the set together.
Dew is holding 4 point and a three point we found another time. If she could hold and play with them all day, she would.

My brother and I hiked the mountains for 8 straight days trying to find the herd. We saw a lot of tracks but didn't see any elk. The last day of the hunt just before dark, we finally came across this spike just 30 yards off the road. All that hiking and tracking was hard, we were just happy that this one was put in our hands, even though it was just a spike.
It was so close to the road that we were able to lift it into the truck without quartering it.
